We're moving to Naples, Florida, where we're creating a butterfly garden next to a large water-lily pond in our garden. It will be enclosed within a 36' x 60' screened cage, to protect the butterflies and caterpillars from the birds.

We're adding many of the plants with flowers from which diverse species of butterflies sip nectar, plus other plants where they'll lay eggs so their caterpillars can dine on the leaves. That should attract hundreds of butterflies to our garden, and encourage them to set up growing populations as they've done in our older garden in the Geneva area.

We hope to meet other butterfly enthusiasts in southwest Florida so that we can share information about their care. Please add a reply below this letter if you feel a Meetup group about butterflies could get a few members in this part of the world. We might then meet regularly and offer each other our excess plants, butterfly eggs, caterpillars and chrysalids.
